Szymon graduated in Computer Science, while Krzysztof pursued a degree in Physics. They both emphasize the profound influence of their studies on their professional lives and entrepreneurial endeavours.
Thanks to their academic achievements, Krzysztof puts strong emphasis on the problem-solving attitude, while Szymon profits from the mathematical mindset in running a business now. If you wish to know more about them and their educational background, feel free to read the following articles:
Krzysztof Ratajczyk: From Physics at Poznań University to Business Success
As part of the #jestemzUAM (I am from AMU) series, Krzysztof Ratajczyk shared his story, as a graduate of the Faculty of Physics at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. His journey from a physics student to an entrepreneur and co-owner of Panda Group sp. z o.o. is an inspiring example of how education and knowledge gained at a university can lead to success in the world of business.
Education at Adam Mickiewicz University
Krzysztof Ratajczyk completed his studies at the Faculty of Physics, specializing in Applied Informatics. This might seem like an unusual combination, but as he explains, it was at Adam Mickiewicz University where he acquired not only technical foundations but, above all, the tools for logical thinking and problem-solving. These are skills that are invaluable in any area of life, especially in business.
Physics, as a field of study, is known for its specific challenges. Krzysztof admits that initially, he had difficulty understanding it, and he felt somewhat embarrassed about it. However, it was during these courses that he learned patience and determination in solving complex problems. These are skills he uses every day when solving problems for clients and managing his team.
Memories of Poznań University
Krzysztof Ratajczyk also cherishes the emotions he experienced during his time at Adam Mickiewicz University. He fondly remembers the best moments spent with his fellow students. Exchanging views, and experiences, and solving problems over a shared meal in the cafeteria created unforgettable memories.
It is worth noting that the success of his teachers and lecturers also played a crucial role in his development. These educators conveyed their passion for learning and a professional approach to challenging subjects. Thanks to them, Krzysztof had the opportunity to delve into the deeper intricacies of physics, quantum mechanics, programming, and web application security. He expresses special gratitude to his thesis advisor, Prof. Jolanta Latosińska, who believed in his potential and provided him with the opportunity for growth during the creation of his master’s thesis.
Unique Challenges
During our conversation, Krzysztof emphasizes that studying at Adam Mickiewicz University presented challenges in itself. Coping with the sheer volume of material to be absorbed was a significant challenge, but also an invaluable experience. Another valuable lesson was the balance between work and university commitments. It was during this time that he learned to take 100% responsibility for his actions and presentations.
Success in e-commerce software Business
After completing his studies, Krzysztof Ratajczyk decided to pursue a career as an entrepreneur. Today, he is a co-owner of Panda Group sp. z o.o. He is not only an example of the valuable knowledge one gains at university, but also how it can be applied in practice.
His story shows that studying physics and informatics at Adam Mickiewicz University is not just about theory, but also about gaining life skills that help navigate the challenges of the business world.
Szymon Niedziela: A Journey from Poznań University to Entrepreneurship
Szymon Niedziela was also an enthusiastic student of Adam Mickiewicz University. He graduated with a degree in informatics, and then went on to continue his studies at the University of Economics in Poznań.
Sharing Krzysztof’s passion for entrepreneurship, Szymon decided to pursue a career as a software
As part of our #jestemzUAM (I am from AMU) series, we invite you to read the memories and experiences of Szymon Niedziela, an entrepreneur and co-owner of Panda Group sp. z o.o., who is also a proud graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Adam Mickiewicz University (UAM).
What University studies gave him
Szymon Niedziela reflects on his time at UAM, acknowledging the immense knowledge he gained in mathematics and computer science. Initially, he couldn’t quite grasp why there were so many math-related subjects in the field of computer science.
However, as the years passed, he came to realize the profound impact these courses had on his way of thinking, problem-solving skills, and analytical competencies.
Fond Memories
One of the highlights of Szymon’s university experience was the collaborative projects in the field of software engineering. He expresses gratitude to the instructors and lecturers for allowing students to propose their own ideas for applications as part of their coursework.
This freedom provided unique opportunities for practical project realization, undertaken with far greater enthusiasm than standard assignments. Group projects offered a taste of commercial ventures, where students had to navigate teamwork, integrate various technologies, and manage within limited resources, in their case, time.
Overcoming Challenges
Szymon also reminisces about the challenges he faced during his university journey, particularly when it came to passing his first examination session. After the first semester at AMU, it was time to take up t exams that would assess the knowledge and skills acquired.
This period taught him to be more systematic and make tough decisions when time was scarce for exam preparation. He understood that challenges were an integral part of the educational process and that perseverance, consistency, and determination were the keys to success.
University Impact on Szymon’s Journey
Szymon Niedziela’s story is a testament to the transformative power of education. His academic journey at UAM, with its emphasis on mathematics and computer science, equipped him with not just knowledge but also the ability to approach problems analytically and creatively. The collaborative projects and challenges he encountered prepared him for the dynamic world of entrepreneurship.
Today, as an entrepreneur and co-owner of Panda Group sp. z o.o., Szymon continues to apply the skills and experiences he gained at AMU to build a successful business.
